According to the Centers for Disease Control, animals can help lower blood pressure and increase happiness in people of all ages.  Pets can be very costly to own, and a visit to the zoo can do the trick.  In addition to the benefits mentioned above, a trip to the zoo can also help those seniors living with Alzheimer’s disease because it could trigger fond memories from their childhood.  To make the most of of the zoo trip, here is a few things you should plan for.  First, be sure to check the forecast and make sure it is not too warm for the seniors.  It is also a good idea to plan the route for the trip, visiting places that the senior enjoys more.  Lastly, don’t be afraid to ask for help and assistance if needed as the zoo usually have designated staff or volunteers to accommodate for seniors.
